Overview

Tucked away in Denver’s vibrant Cortez district, Tacos With Altitude elevates the taco experience with a spirited blend of tradition and innovation. This taco restaurant centers on simplicity done right: quality ingredients wrapped in a perfectly toasted flour tortilla, paired with fresh pico de gallo. Whether you choose the hearty Asada steak with crisp lettuce and pico, the spicy Al Pastor with pineapple accents, or the rich veggie Cotija featuring mushrooms and poblanos, each taco tells a flavorful story.

The menu is a thoughtful collection of bold, layered dishes crafted for those who appreciate authentic Mexican street food but with a modern twist. Beyond tacos, standout items like the Carne Asada fries have earned well-deserved praise for their generous portions, balanced heat, and satisfying textures. This dish alone captures the heart of what makes the spot special: approachable, robust flavors that linger long after the last bite.

The eatery operates primarily from a food truck, adding to the charm and accessibility for Denver food lovers on the go, though the location at 1451 Cortez St provides a consistent hub. Patrons frequently highlight the warmth and attentiveness of the staff, a testament to a welcoming community vibe that is often missing in fast-casual settings. This friendly service paired with quick preparation makes it ideal for locals, professionals, and food adventurers alike.

For anyone seeking an authentic taste of Mexican comfort food elevated with fresh ingredients and genuine care, Tacos With Altitude is a must-visit. The space around the Cortez location complements this with laid-back urban energy, perfect for casual gatherings or solo indulgence. The focus here is simple: great tacos, excellent hospitality, and a menu that invites repeat visits to explore every flavor.

Delicious and authentic food! Nice variety on the menu and really flavorful meals. The Asada Fries were delicious. Great balance of spice and flavor. We'll watch for this food truck around town and will definitely be customers again!

I ordered Carne asada fries at the tiny home and they were such a generous portion and delicious for $15. The were very popular but the service was still quick and friendly. I can't wait to try more on their menu.

Their food is absolutely amazing. I ate 3 tacos and 2 orders of carne asada fries. Great salsas and very good quality food. The food truck people were so incredibly nice. I accidentally dropped my second serving of Asada Fries at Taste of Fort Collins and somehow one of the Chefs saw me and jumped out of the truck and ran 25 yards over to me. He threw his arm over my shoulder and walked me back to the truck to make me another. So kind. Please find out who it was and give them a raise for being an outstanding human being. Cheers.
